About Author

One of our high performers, Joe died Aug. 10, 2015, in his hometown of Minneapolis.

He graduated from the Blake School. He majored in history and joined Quad at Princeton. Joe belonged to the World Federalists and the Minnesota Club, served as president of the Mountaineering Club, and was an announcer on WPRU. His roommates were Matt Loufek and Jim Wright. Also

After graduation, Joe served as a lieutenant in the Army and took classes at the University of Minnesota. He had a banking career at Northwestern National Bank, where he led the way in use of computers for financial analysis and later wrote Stock Market Probability and The Random Character of Interest Rates. Also

He led three American expeditions to Tibet, including one to Everest, and skied to both the North and South poles. Joe became chair of Midwest Communications, a television and radio company. His activities included service on the boards of a number of prominent institutions in the Twin Cities and writing of some books. Also

Joe leaves his wife, Diana, and sons Michael and John, to whom the class offers its sympathy on the loss of our prominent classmate and its thanks for his military service for our country. Also
