About the Actor
Geoff Thompson pursued violence as his profession, working as a doorman in some of Britain’s roughest clubs. Holder of a 6 Dan Black Belt in Japanese Karate, 1st Dan in Judo, and proficient in various other martial arts, he proved his toughness. He authored several books, penned a film script titled “Watch My Back,” based on his life, and crafted a stage play called “A Sock Foot,” which caught the attention of The Royal Court Theater in London’s West End, leading to his invitation to join their exclusive group of writers.
In 1997, Chuck Norris brought Geoff to the United States to instruct at his international seminar. Geoff served as an ambassador for martial arts, making appearances on national and international TV and radio. For a couple of years, he served as the self-defense expert on BBC Good Morning, providing insights and advice on self-protection and related topics. His work, both innovative and thought-provoking, earned him the role of Sub Editor for Martial Arts Illustrated and Contributing Editor for Men’s Fitness magazine.
Geoff contributed numerous articles to mainstream magazines like Loaded, Maxim, FHM, Arena, and Esquire. He also collaborated with GQ Magazine (Britain-Paris). His presence graced mainstream TV, including ITVS Martial Arts: The True Story, broadcasted in two one-hour programs. In addition to his literary works and videos, Geoff served as the Martial Arts choreographer for the Royal Court’s production ‘Hard Fruit’ in London. He received the EMDA Award for the screenplay of the film ‘Watch My Back’ and achieved the prestigious BAFTA award in 2004 for his short film, Brown Paper Bag.
