Guro Crafty, a seasoned Jiu-Jitsu practitioner under the Machado lineage for two years, had his martial arts world transformed when the first UFC revolutionized the martial arts scene. He has maintained his active involvement in the MMA world since the UFC’s inception, despite his initial interest in the Dog Brothers’ special weapons events being deterred due to their perceived extremism for the UFC.

His association with the UFC persisted; he even served as a judge at UFC 10 due to his enduring passion for MMA. Now at the age of 52, Guro Crafty regularly engages in training sessions at the “R1 Academy” (formerly known as the RAW Gym), where he rolls and spars with highly skilled professional wrestlers. Many practitioners of Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) are familiar with the phrase, “The movements of our empty hand are like those of weapons.” Some have questioned why these techniques aren’t visible in the Octagon.

MMA undergoes rapid evolution. Following the rise of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Shootfighting, and Sambo introduced their techniques, including leg blocks. Fighters integrated their strong foundational skills to incorporate ground and pound techniques. Greco-Roman wrestling, embodied by Randy Couture, became the hallmark of clinch matches. In this cutting-edge and highly innovative double DVD, Guro Crafty demonstrates how to apply Kali-silat techniques within the cage.

In “Kali Tudo 2 Dog Brothers: The Dog Running Game,” Guro Crafty reveals Kali Tudo’s anti-protector attack methodology. In a change of heart, he decided to share this previously undisclosed knowledge, featuring footage of him teaching his backyard group, “Golden Age,” with a special appearance by Top Dog himself. The video transitions into Guro Crafty showcasing the material he shared last fall in Hawaii with Dogzilla’s “Hawaii Clan” from the Dog Brothers.

Starting from the fundamental “running dog stance,” various options for head guard passes, a swift heel hook, and striking techniques from Kali silat are demonstrated. These techniques not only establish the groundwork for the aforementioned variables but also serve as effective means to finish the fight with strikes in their own right.
