David Weis, boasting 40 years of experience in the futures markets, worked initially as a broker and analyst for Conti Commodities. Subsequently, he pursued the Wyckoff Course at the Stock Market Institute, emerging as a prominent practitioner.
Ascending to the role of Director of Technical Research at Conti Commodities, Weis authored the weekly technical market letter. He later assumed the role of editor for the Elliott Wave Commodity Letter under Robert Prechter’s publication. Following a four-year tenure, he initiated his own Technical Forces letter. Presently, he crafts a nightly Stock Market Update based on his interpretation of price/volume behavior.
Weis unveiled his latest book, “Trades About To Happen, A Modern Adaptation of the Wyckoff Method” (Wiley & Sons), in April 2013. Widely praised, this work is hailed as a significant contribution to the realm of technical analysis. Within its pages, Richard Wyckoff’s century-old tape reading techniques have been adapted to align with the dynamics of today’s volatile markets. Weis is also a co-author of “Charting the Stock Market, The Wyckoff Method,” and the sole author of a workbook titled “Trading with the Elliott Wave Principle, A Practical Guide.”
