Fondo Style: style is style, background is anchor. In Filipino terminology, Estilo De Fondo means holding your ground or anchoring yourself in a solid position.
This can be called a blocked or closed style, as when a door closes, one must either use force to break it or look for other openings.
The application weapon is a cake knife. This style was used by Grandmaster Leo M. Giron as a back-up combat system during World War II in the jungles of the Philippines, and is the basis of Giron Escrima.
