Harimau Singgalang, originating from the Minangkabau region on Sumatra Island, is the creation of Pak Haji Syofian Nadar, a renowned Silek master. After extensive study of 21 different styles, including Harimau style under his uncle’s guidance, he developed this distinct style known as Harimau Singgalang. The name “Harimau” represents the Minangkabau tiger, while “Singgalang” pays homage to the famous Singgalang mountain in Minangkabau.
