Haidong Gumdo, the original sword art of Korea, was developed by the ancient Samurangs, who were the soldiers of the Koguryu dynasty.

Throughout its history, this art has created a training program centered around saber handling, precise strikes, defensive maneuvers, kicks, cuts, concentration, and the control of internal energy achieved through mastering breathing techniques and meditation. All these elements are aimed at strengthening the instructor’s command over both the mind and body.

Under the guidance of Professor Sang Hyun, who holds a 5th Dan Black Belt and serves as the Technical Delegate of the World Federation of Haidong Gumdo for all of Europe, and Master Lee Dong Kyu, an 8th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, participants will explore exercises focusing on concentration and breath control. These exercises involve working with the saber and include impressive demonstrations of skill such as cutting bamboo, paper, or extinguishing candles.
