Traditional hapkido, regarded as one of Korea’s premier martial arts, was established by Yong Shul Choi. This five-part DVD series on hapkido, guided by Choi’s senior disciple Jong Bae Rim and head instructor Joe Sheya, imparts the potent techniques of the art. Hapkido was conceived by Choi following his 30-year study of jujutsu under Sokaku Tokada in Japan. Upon his return to Korea in 1945, Choi initiated teaching his newly developed art, which he named hapkido.
