Learn to use hard and soft pressure point techniques against both active and passive opponents. Use the sympathetic nervous system to create involuntary reactions ranging from creating distance or distracting a suspect or momentarily disabling him.
The second part of the DVD covers handgun retention in and out of the holster and disarming techniques in the event that a suspect gains control of the officer’s handgun or if the unarmed officer finds himself facing a gun at close range.

Instructor Mark Wyler begins by teaching the fundamental blocks, strikes, gripping methods, and straight baton combination strikes then progresses to baton retention, disarming, locks and escorts.

The next teaching segment covers the correct procedure for handcuffing and searching for adherent and non-adherent suspects from the standing, kneeling and prone positions. The DVD ends with multiple officer control techniques and vehicle extraction using empty-hand techniques and the kubaton.

Throughout both DVDs in this series the instructors share with you valuable life-saving safety tips gleaned from years on the job. Although these DVDs are not intended to replace an officer’s training, they do offer many valuable supplemental techniques and strategies taught in a concise, no-nonsense format.
