Become an integral part of a weapon system that is incredibly comprehensive and constantly evolving! Weapons-Kali focuses on utilizing weapons in the most functional ways, progressing to attribute-based techniques as students advance. The literal translation of the name is “Weapon Hand Movement.”

The Weapons-Kali curriculum draws from Filipino, Thai, and Okinawan weapons arts. Students will explore five primary categories of weapon use:

Impact Weapons: Rods, Staves, Poles, etc.
Edged Weapons: Knives, Swords, Hatchets, etc.
Piercing Weapons: Knives, Spears, Swords, etc.
Projectile Weapons: Knives, Rocks, Arrows, Guns, etc.
Flexible Weapons: Sarong, Malong, T-Shirt, Rope

The curriculum covers Slashing, Thrusting, Hacking, Striking, Disarms, Trapping, Locks & Tie-Ups. Students will master these techniques while honing coordination, timing, reach, foot and body movement, speed, power, and grace.

Weapons-Kali primarily teaches:

Single & Double Stick
Single & Double Knife
Single & Double Sword
Sword Y Daga
Karambit
Staff

As martial arts is a continuous pursuit, our curriculum constantly evolves and improves. This ensures that Weapons-Kali remains an art that can be practiced throughout a lifetime.

Student Rank Progression:

No Flag: Entry Level—All new students start as “No Flag.”
Yellow Flag: Introduction to basic built-in trips, flow patterns, and more.
Green Flag: Introduction to basic external disarms, joint locks, and more.
Blue Flag: Introduction to Knife Matrix, cutting combinations, advanced disarms, and much more.

Instructor Rank Progression:

Level 1 Instructor (Guro): Can promote students to Yellow and Green Flags. Must demonstrate effective teaching abilities up to the Green Flag level. Therefore, Instructors must have at least one student evaluated and promoted to Green Flag to assess their ability to convey information effectively.
Level 2 Instructor: Can promote students to Blue and Red Flags. Must demonstrate effective teaching abilities up to the Red Flag level. Therefore, Instructors must have at least one student evaluated and promoted to Red Flag to assess their ability to convey information effectively.
