Urban Combatives Vol. 2 Counter-Grappling Tactics with Lee Morrison Urban Combatives Vol. 2: Counter-Grappling Tactics with Lee Morrison
Street fighting is serious business. At some point during a street fight, you’ll likely find yourself on the ground with an opponent who won’t stop until you’re unconscious. Do you have the necessary fighting skills to prevent this from happening to you?
In volume two of this exclusive video series from Paladin Press, Urban Combatives trainer Lee Morrison reveals real-world tactics for terminating a threat quickly and violently…before it goes to ground. Using ballistic manipulation, violence, and speed, Lee teaches slashing, slashing, and biting tactics designed to stop a grappler cold. And if the fight goes to the ground, Lee demonstrates how to cover up and get back on his feet and fight fast.
Unlike in the ring, there are no rules in a street fight, so you must do whatever it takes to dominate your opponent. Whether you’re involved in stand-up fighting or you find yourself on your back in an alley, you’ll be ready with the counter-turn tactics taught in this no-frills, survival-oriented video. For informational purposes only.

Urban Combatives – The Principle of Flanking with Lee MorrisonUrban Combatives – The Principle of Flanking with Lee Morrison
The principle of striking on the enemy’s flank has been employed in warfare for as long as war has been fought. Vast armies attack in formation from the flank, as main artillery surrounds the front. The predatory behavior depicted by a pair of street assailants will often utilize the pincer approach, where one subject will flank the unsuspecting target as the other suckers head-on. The “In-Quartata” tactic of fencing employs flanking from an offensive-defensive perspective, where a combatant will step out of line from an oncoming assault while simultaneously attacking on the flank.
This DVD looks at cultivating this Combat Principle for effective use within a close hand-to-hand confrontation. Here, we’ve chunked the whole principle down and back up into an immediately usable Combat skill set. We work everything from footwork and hand positioning, to clearing an obstruction, dealing with an active guard or fence, then to attacking from a flanked position – employing everything from ballistic impact to submission control and takedowns.
We also look at flanking the “zero pressure” (a Filipino MA term) from one of the more difficult knife attacks – the “claw and stab”. Lastly, we look at flanking employment as a real strike in order to maximize impact while remaining non-telegraphic.
To portray this principle in action, think of the following two movie examples that you might come across. First, the movie “Snatch”, when the boxer pikey “in-Quartata” flanks the oncoming meathead, crushing him unconscious with a beautiful straight right to the chin button. Or the more mystical depiction of the movie “Troy”, when Achilles rushes at his monstrous opponent, dodging his spears, then closes in with a flank leap as he drives his shortsword deep into his enemy’s sub collarbone for a single blow. Final.
