Robert Liedke is the 10th Dan Godo Ryu Aikido master with over 40 years of experience. He was a student of Judo and Aikido master In-Soo Hwang and began training in 1970. He was a truck driver because of Aikido’s beauty and interplay between sophistication and simplicity and decided to dedicate his life to its study.
Robert Liedke strongly believes that Aikido focuses on teaching you to be a better person. A guide to understanding yourself better, developing patience and a healthy attitude, both mentally and physically. In response to changing times and the various forces inherent in the many martial arts that exist in the world, Master Liedke developed his own unique system: Godo-Ryu Aikido.
By taking precision, movement and techniques found in traditional Aikido and combining it with self-defense techniques designed to be effective in real life, he has created an effective martial art that can be practiced safely by anyone with a dedication to it.

04. Safe Escape Aikido Self-Defense Lesson 4:
The gun and knife techniques demonstrated in this clear and concise video are explained in detail by Master Bob Liedke. Disarming an attacker threatening you with a gun or knife or any other weapon is a very dangerous situation in which you could be killed or seriously injured. So learn these weapon defenses slowly and carefully and they will serve you well.
