About Author

Dr. Seiver spent 27 years teaching economics at Miami University. He retired as a tenured professor in 2005. At Miami, he taught ten different courses, including Intermediate Microtheory, Money and Banking, Economic Development, International Trade and Finance, and Economics and the Stock Market. He also authored or coauthored over 20 peer reviewed articles, notes and comments, in journals such as American Economic Review (Papers and Proceedings), International Economic Review, Review of Income and Wealth, Demography, Population Studies, Applied Economics, and Journal of Economic Education.

He also authored or coauthored two books: Regions and Resources: Strategies for Development (MIT Press) and Outsmarting Wall Street (Probus/McGraw-Hill, 3^rd ed.) Seiver presented his work at over 20 national and regional conferences. He appeared regularly on the PBS TV program “Nightly Business Report.” Seiver was also principal or co-principal investigator for NSF and NIH grants totaling over $5 million.
